Call for papers: «Mongolian Studies – New approaches,” international scientific conference in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, August 16-17, 2012 DEADLINE: July 15, 2012
This conference is being held in commemoration of the 850th anniversary of Chinggis Khan’s birth and the 70th anniversary of the National University of Mongolia.
The aim of the conference — sponsored by the Institute for Mongolian Studies, National University of Mongolia — is to address problematic issues in various fields of Mongolian studies such as: society; politics; culture; economics; philosophy; history; philology and textual studies. In so doing, the Conference Organizers hope to obtain fresh ideas, perspectives and approaches to solving these problems, learn about new methods, and gain from the experience of established scholars and international researchers.
We invite proposals for papers, due July 15, 2012, on one of the following topics related to Mongolia: society and politics; culture and history; philology and textual studies; and Nomadic civilization. Papers and presentations may be delivered in English or Mongolian. A publication resulting from conference presentations is planned. The $350 fee includes conference charges, accommodation on August 16th and17th and meals (but not local or international travel expenses).
